Job Overview
We are looking for a Post-Doc to join our molecular parasitology team in the Lander laboratory under the supervision of Noelia Lander (https://homepages.uc.edu/~landerlab/wordpress/) at the University of Cincinnati. The post-doctoral trainee will be performing functional analysis of proteins involved in cell signaling in Trypanosoma cruzi. Dr. Lander?s recent funded NIH grant involves multi-disciplinary studies, and includes genetic manipulation of trypanosomes, phenotypic analyses of mutant cell lines, mammalian cell culture, proteomic and transcriptomic analyses, enzymatic activity, and state-of-the-art microscopy techniques, among other approaches to investigate cell signaling mechanisms in trypanosomatids. We have extensive experience in genome editing and cell signaling in T. cruzi (https://researchdirectory.uc.edu/p/landernm). This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn and apply cellular and molecular biology techniques. Qualified candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a group environment. The post-doc will train in a vibrant and nationally recognized academic setting.
Prospective candidates should have Ph.D. in Cellular Biology, Genetics, Biology, Microbiology or related field. Although it is not mandatory, the ideal candidate should have experience in basic molecular biology, cellular biology, and biochemistry techniques, cell culture and bioinformatics.
The intended start date, though flexible, is November 1st, 2025 ? January 1st, 2026.
Essential Functions
Conduct research experiments in a particular field within the pre-determined research scope and methodology.
Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas that promote current research.
Prepare data summaries, reports, manuscripts and presentations of research results.
Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentation; may assist in grant writing.
Keep informed of developments in field to maintain and enhance professional expertise.
Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies, as needed.
May teach techniques to others, train, and mentor junior research staff.
Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities.
Play an active role in seeking career and research advice, both from the faculty supervisor and from other faculty members as well.
Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
