Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the NIH-funded laboratory of Dr. Jingyan Han at Boston University School of Medicine, Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute in Boston, MA. Seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join a research team working together to investigate the redox-dependent mechanisms that drive vascular endothelial cell dysfunction associated with metabolic disorders, aging, and alcohol abuse. The laboratory uses multiple approaches including gene knockout, overexpression, and site-directed mutation in cell culture, isolated primary endothelial cells from mouse models and human subjects, ex vivo and in vivo vascular function assays, conditional tissue-specific transgene or knockout mice, and mouse models of atherosclerosis, aging, and excessive alcohol consumption. Qualified applicants are those who have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with strong background in vascular biology or related fields. Candidates should have prior experience of animal handling/colony management/surgical techniques, primary cell culture, and molecular biology. They will also use bioinformatics tools to analyze omics-data. Ideal candidates will have the ability to independently design, conduct, and troubleshoot experiments, and to collect, analyze and interpret data in preparation for manuscript publication.
