The Oliverio Lab (https://oliveriolab.org/) in the Biology department at Syracuse University, Syracuse New York (https://thecollege.syr.edu/biology/) is seeking a motivated, organized, detail-oriented research technician to work on the molecular-level activities of soil organisms and experiments with synthetic microbial communities. We are open to hiring at multiple levels of experience: applicants with either a Bachelor's or Master's are welcome to apply.

The technician will be responsible for a variety of day to day lab activities and also have the opportunity to work on their own research project if that experience is desired. Activities will include operational activities such as: working with graduate and undergraduate students to maintain a lab space that is organized, purchasing supplies, and training students in molecular methods. Other responsibilities will include: growing bacterial and fungal cultures, setting up multi-species experiments with cultures, and performing DNA extractions from cultures and soils. There is also opportunity to run and help develop bioinformatics pipelines for downstream data processing and analysis if interested.
