The Department of Computer Science at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics.
Description of Department: The Computer Science Department is a highly progressive department with a vibrant and active faculty and students. Our department currently offers a Computer Science degree, an Information Science degree, and a Software Engineering degree. We also offer a Master's of Science in Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) and jointly offer a Master's Program titled Human Computer Interaction (HCI) which has a significant Psychology component with emphasis on both human factors and software engineering. Recently, a number of new graduate programs have been created including a Professional Science Master's degree in BHI, a Professional Science Master's degree in HCI and graduate certificates in Integrated Health Systems and Health Information Technology. We also participate in offering interdisciplinary programs in Cognitive Science and Linguistics.

Description of Responsibilities: The Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics (BHI) will be required to teach courses in biomedical informatics, engage in research and collaborate with biomedical informatics students on research or experiential projects. The Assistant Professor will assist the BHI director in service activities, including student advisement, and promote students' ability to succeed in a global community.

Ph. D. in Biomedical Informatics, Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, Computer Science, Information Science, or related discipline by time of appointment
Demonstrated teaching experience and/or ability in areas relevant to Biomedical and Health Informatics, as well as an ability to teach in related areas in Information Science or Computer Science.
Demonstrated research experience in Biomedical Informatics, Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, and/or Data Science applied to Biomedicine (biology or medicine).
Clearly articulated commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity issues (evidenced by diversity statement).
Experience with online education and/or accreditation
Demonstrated experience with initiatives, programs, research, and/or curriculum relevant to diversity, equity, and inclusion in biomedical and health informatics or related disciplines.
