The Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics at Albany Medical College/ Albany Med Health System is seeking a Clinical Geneticist and a Division Chief, offering a unique opportunity for professional growth in a reputable medical genetics program at Albany Medical College. The selected candidate will collaborate with other specialties within the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Ob/Gyn-Maternal Fetal Medicine to deliver comprehensive care to patients and contribute to cutting-edge research initiatives.
The Clinical Geneticist will be responsible for diagnosing and managing genetic conditions, providing genetic counseling, and participating in clinical research projects.
The position requires a commitment to excellence in patient care, education of medical students and residents, as well as active participation in scholarly activities and research endeavors.
The Division Chief, will lead and oversee the strategic administrative, clinical, research, and educational activities of the division, providing leadership, setting strategic goals, and fostering a collaborative environment within the division. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for advancing medical genetics, and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. This role offers a unique platform to shape the future of medical genetics practice and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
The Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics is comprised of current division chief, a clinical geneticist and cytogeneticist (who will continue working hybrid), a Medical Biochemical Geneticist (Metabolic Disorders), four Genetic Counselors (adding fifth), a Genetic NP, a Genetic/metabolic RN, and a Dietician.
REQUIREMENTS
MD or DO degree
Board certification/eligibility in Medical Genetics
Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State
