We are seeking a Laboratory Technician who is interested in spending one or two years performing full-time research in the area of epigenetics of DNA repair. Our research is focused on understanding how chromatin composition and RNA/DNA secondary structures alter genome maintenance.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Work closely with a senior lab member to advance a related research project.
Receive direct mentorship and training on a range of techniques including molecular biology, cell biology, immunofluorescence imaging and next-generation sequencing.
Organization and maintenance of the lab?s operations (e.g. placing orders, maintaining equipment and reagent stocks).
Assist with animal breeding and genotyping, bleeding and injection of animals according to protocols, as needed, and compile and maintain animal logs related to experimentation and genotyping mice.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or graduation equivalent with some science coursework.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor?s Degree, certificate from technical institute or internship experience preferred.
Experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology and/or bioinformatic approaches is a plus.
Experience using Microsoft applications and data analysis
Ability to work under environmental conditions that require the use of safety equipment.
