Job Summary:
The Department of Radiology at the University of Michigan invite applications for a full-time faculty position from individuals with a research focus and mentorship experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Medical Imaging, Computational Medicine, and Bioinformatics. The rank ranging from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor on the instructional tenure track will be based on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will enhance our interdisciplinary expertise in applications of AI for medical imaging, biomedical image processing, computational medicine, diagnosis, treatment-response monitoring, bioinformatics, prognosis prediction, and analysis and retrieval of clinical information. The Department of Radiology is a leading department nationally and internationally. Michigan Medicine and University of Michigan are consistently ranked among the top institutions in the nation.
The new faculty members will join collaborative research groups recognized for their interdisciplinary strengths in medical imaging, computational medicine, bioinformatics, AI, computer-aided diagnosis and decision support, treatment-response monitoring, and the integration of imaging, molecular and clinical information for diverse machine learning applications. The successful candidate is expected to develop collaborations with existing research programs within the Department of Radiology and beyond.

- Develop and direct a robust, extramurally funded research
- Mentor postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students, medical residents and students, and supervise their research activities.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- A Ph.D. degree in computer science, bioinformatics, electrical or biomedical engineering, medical physics, or related fields. Qualified candidates holding MD/DO, and MD, PhD degrees are also encouraged to apply.
- Training or work experience in digital image processing, computer vision, computational medicine, artificial intelligence, generative AI, large language models, neural networks, deep learning, machine learning, bioinformatics, and statistics.
