Joel Keizer Endowed Chair in Theoretical and Computational Biology (INTERNAL RECRUITMENT for faculty in the Departments of Evolution and Ecology or Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior)
Position Overview:
INTERNAL RECRUITMENT TO UC DAVIS ONLY. The Joel Keizer Endowed Chair in Theoretical and Computational Biology provides additional funding to a current UC Davis academic appointee in the ladder rank series. The additional funding may support the endowed chair holder in areas of teaching, research and outreach activities directly related to the purpose of the endowment.
The holder of the Joel Keizer Endowed Chair in Theoretical and Computational Biology will be a senior faculty member in the Department of Evolution and Ecology and/or the Department of Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior in the College of Biological Sciences (CBS), whose specialty is in the area of theoretical and computational biology and whose distinguished scholarship is nationally recognized.
The Joel Keizer Endowed Chair term is for five years and then the chair is ineligible to apply again for seven years.
The endowment payout will support the chair's efforts in research, teaching and service and further the mission of the Department of Evolution and Ecology and/or Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior, the College of Biological Sciences, and the campus.
It is expected that the holder of the endowed chair will advance at least normally through the faculty ranks on the basis of his/her scholarly activities, teaching, University and public service.
