The Rockefeller University seeks a Research Assistant to join Molecular Genetics. The Research Assistant will support experiments designed to elucidate the neural circuits regulating feeding and metabolism. Duties will include assisting postdocs primarily with neurosurgeries for opto and chemo genetics, behavioral assays, immunohistochemistry protocols, and mouse colony maintenance. In addition, the Research Assistant will be responsible for various general laboratory tasks such as managing lab supplies and stocks.
Bachelors degree required; educational emphasis in life sciences, with preference for neuroscience and molecular biology. Experience in basic mouse handling and genetics a huge bonus. Must be willing to work with mice as a model organism. Ability to work well as part of a team a must.
