The Department of Oral Biology at the School of Dental Medicine within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is recruiting tenure track faculty (Associate or full Professor) in the areas of microbiology, immunology, epidemiology with public health relevance, bioinformatics as well as cancer research and oral microbiome in health and diseases. Recruited faculty are expected to establish and independent, innovative, and collaborative research program that complements and expands existing programs in basic and translational research with RBHS. Candidates are expected to contribute to the teaching mission of RSDM and Rutgers University in general, in their expertise.
The Department of Oral Biology is housed within RSDM with newly renovated research laboratories and centrally located in Newark, NJ, about 40 minutes away from the central campus in Piscataway and 20 minutes away.
The positions will be supported by a competitive start-up package with exceptional candidates being considered for further support as Chancellor Scholars.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree (PhD, DMD, DMD/PhD, DDS/PhD or equivalent), outstanding academic credentials with a strong publication history in the areas of oral microbiology, immunology, epidemiology, bioinformatics, and microbiome. In addition, applicants must have demonstrated potential to obtain extramural funding for basic and translational research. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
