Ohio Wesleyan University is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus, is seeking candidates for the position of Postdoctoral Research Scientist.
The Department of Biological Sciences at Ohio Wesleyan University is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to work in the laboratory of Chris Wolverton investigating the gravity sensing and response pathways in Arabidopsis. The lab has generated RNA-seq data from plants grown under a range of gravity conditions in ground-based and spaceflight experiments and is seeking to identify novel components of gravity perception and/or response regulation from these datasets. OWU is an undergraduate-only institution, and the department is interested in candidates with a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career focused on teaching and research in a similar balance.

Qualifications: This position requires that the candidate has earned a Ph.D. in plant biology or a related field. The candidate will have experience with plant molecular biology, plant transformation, mutant analysis, and gene expression analysis.
Expected duties include but are not limited to the following:

Leading the development and implementation of a phenotyping pipeline centered around plant gravity responses

Helping to foster meaningful undergraduate student research in the lab and related to the overall project

Maintaining and verifying the various mutant lines obtained and used by the lab for the project

Lead and assist with data analysis, data management, and the publication of results
-
Contributes to a diverse and inclusive laboratory, department, and campus environment
