The Papadimitriou lab, in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, studies the genetic circuits of brain development. We use molecular and cellular neuroscience approaches to understand neurodevelopment and neurodevelopmental disorders. The Papadimitriou lab seeks a driven and motivated individual to carry out research studying the function of gene regulation during brain development. We seek a collaborative and enthusiastic individual who is willing to learn and work in a team environment. This individual will be expected to participate in research related to mouse genetics, genomics, and analyzing anatomical phenotypes using microscopy. While much of the individual's responsibilities will be research-related, this individual will be tasked with responsibilities for genotyping mice, lab maintenance responsibilities, and will help to keep the lab organized and clean. The individual must also ensure that all laboratory protocols and procedures adhere to safety requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Genotype mouse DNA
- Perform mouse husbandry (setting up mouse breeding)
- Sectioning brain tissues
- Document, compile, and analyze experimental data
- Maintain lab notebook records.
- Adhere to lab safety protocols with solid understanding of laboratory safety techniques and procedures.
- Learn and master new techniques and procedures as needed to advance the research program.
