The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Department of Pediatrics, announces an opening for a full time pediatric genetic counselor at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Primary responsibilities include all aspects of clinical genetic counseling, case management, and follow up in a pediatric genetics program. Opportunities for participation in our genetic counseling training program, community outreach clinics, and multidisciplinary clinics are available.
The UAMS Department of Pediatrics employs over 230 faculty members and 75 residents. Arkansas Children's Hospital is among the largest children's hospitals in the United States and is the only tertiary care facility for children in the state. The Section of Genetics within Pediatrics at UAMS is a large vibrant group that continues to grow. Currently, the division has 4 MD geneticists, 4 genetic counselors, 1 genetic counseling assistant, and 2 metabolic nutritionists.
