Job Description:
The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science within the Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University invites applications for tenured and tenure-track positions at all ranks and from all areas of Computer Science/Computer Engineering. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field by the start date of the appointment. We are looking for outstanding candidates with demonstrated excellence in research, as well as a keen interest in teaching and a commitment to student success. Departmental support will include initial reduced teaching loads, competitive salary, and generous start-up funds. The appointment is expected to begin Fall 2024.
Candidates from all relevant research areas in Computer Science /Artificial Intelligence and Computer Engineering are welcome to apply, but special consideration will be given to candidates at the Assistant Professor rank with a record of high-quality research and scholarship in the primary focus areas of computer science (algorithms, software verification, formal methods, programming languages) and artificial intelligence (machine learning, reinforcement learning, federated learning, natural language processing, hardware for deep learning and bioinformatics).
The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Ohio University offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. At present, there are roughly 550 undergraduate students, 100 master's degree students and 40 PhD students in the School of EECS. EECS employs 24 full-time tenured, tenure-track and instructional faculty. New sponsored research awards in the School of EECS have averaged roughly $4M per year over the last five years, and numerous research collaboration opportunities exist within the School's Avionics Engineering Center and Center for Scientific Computing and Immersive Technologies (CSCIT).
