Essential Functions: The Center for Molecular Medicine and Genetics in the Wayne State University School of Medicine (http://genetics.wayne.edu/) is expanding its high-impact research unit and is seeking outstanding candidates who are pursuing fundamental and/or translational problems that would complement existing strengths represented in the Center. Particular foci of interest are: (1) human genetics and genomics and (2) metabolism and inflammation, although we are interested in outstanding candidates in other areas. This tenure-track position can be filled at any level. A competitive start-up package will be provided, commensurate with the candidate's experience and achievement. Candidates will be expected to establish an internationally recognized, extramurally funded research program and to participate in graduate and medical teaching and service. Opportunities for scientific collaboration are available within the Center and externally in multiple areas.Candidates holding a PhD and/or MD, or equivalent degree(s) with a strong record of research productivity are encouraged to apply. Our Center has a long history of providing high quality education and pioneering research for medical students, graduate students in our PhD and MS programs, and students in our Genetic Counseling program.
