The New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University (NYITCOM - Arkansas) Department of Basic Sciences invites applicants for a full-time, 12-month faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. NYITCOM-Arkansas is an accredited and recently established additional campus of osteopathic medicine in Jonesboro, Arkansas that matriculates approximately 115 students each year. Located in the northeast corner of Arkansas, Jonesboro is the largest city in the region. It is approximately one hour from Memphis and has a population of approximately 80,000. Jonesboro is a thriving community that is home to numerous educational, commercial, agricultural, and healthcare entities. NYITCOM-Arkansas is housed in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art educational facility centrally located on the campus of Arkansas State University. The main site in Old Westbury, New York has been training osteopathic physicians for over 40 years.
The successful candidate will:
Provide didactic lectures to first and second-year medical students in a systems-based curriculum
Facilitate small-group learning sessions in the first and second academic years
Mentor medical students throughout their medical school training.
Serve on committees to fulfill institutional and departmental needs.
Conduct bench or scholarly research and guide students in scholarly activities.
