The Rockefeller University seeks a Research Assistant (Salary Range: $46K-$50K) to join Wahba Laboratory. The Research Assistant's responsibilities will include both bench work and bioinformatics. Benchwork includes plate pouring, manipulating C. elegans and basic molecular biology (PCR, cloning, DNA & RNA purification, etc). Bioinformatics work involves analyses of RNA-seq libraries, DNA variant calling and comparative genomics. The Research Assistant will also be responsible for ordering supplies & equipment for the laboratory, chemical & biohazard waste compliance, and repair of equipment.
Bachelor's degree required. Prior laboratory experience required; Bioinformatics skills are preferred.
