The Research Technician will work in the broadly defined area of genomics and maintaining laboratory routine protocols. Specifically, will be involved in preparing libraries for long-read genomic/transcriptomic sequencing and performing bioinformatic analyses. Specific experiments may include extraction of high molecular weight DNA from abalone and salamander tissues and sequencing using the Oxford Nanopore platform. They will also help with general lab maintenance and record keeping, including receiving and storing reagents and items, maintaining instruments, and organizing lab space and samples.
