The Rosado-Olivieri Laboratory of the Department of Molecular Pathobiology of New York University College of Dentistry seeks to recruit junior scientist with expertise in molecular biology, cell biology and/or tissue engineering. Applications from candidates with interests in in the development of human organoid-based technologies for the study of molecular and cellular mechanisms directing human organogenesis, tissue morphogenesis and disease, as well as in the integration of bioengineering and quantitative technologies are particularly welcome. The candidate will contribute to the development of stem cell-based models of human development using highly interdisciplinary approaches grounded on stem cell biology, genome editing, tissue engineering, gene expression analysis, and quantitative high resolution imaging analysis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the biological sciences, which mostly includes tissue culture, molecular biology, and microscopy.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Human pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation.
- Molecular Biology techniques.
- Organoid generation, staining and imaging.
- Maintain detailed laboratory notebook and other documentation, protocols, and records, including reporting to the senior management.
What we do: The Rosado-Olivieri Laboratory focuses on the development and deployment of high-throughput and standardized stem cell-based models to unveil the cellular and molecular underpinnings of human organogenesis and tissue morphogenesis, and how they go awry in disease. Our approach combines the power of pluripotent stem cells to model human development in vitro and bioengineering approaches to induce multi-cellular self-organization of tissues to reconstitute human organogenesis at scale.
The position offers competitive salary and exposure to a rich scientific environment at NYU and the New York City area.
In compliance with NYC?s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $40,000.00-$47,500. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grand funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S./M.S. degree in biological sciences or related field.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting, to meet critical deadlines.
- Excellence in the fundamentals of molecular biology and cell biology.
- Experience with microscopy and image analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and skills.
The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, design and conduct experiments, and to work in a collaborative environment as part of a research team. Candidates should have strong organizational skills, effective written and oral communication skills, and be able to provide evidence of research productivity.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae and names and contact information of three professional references.
