The Department of Translational Genomics seeks faculty candidates at the Assistant Professor level, to serve as Assistant Professor of Clinical Translational Genomics and Director for their Masters in Bioinformatics Program. Prior teaching experience at the graduate level is required. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is highly desired: Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Analysis of Next-generation Sequencing Data, and/or Genomics.
Duties include teaching core and elective courses at the masters level, advising students for academic and career development, program administration such as recruitments, admissions, academic record managements, and curriculum development. Collaborative research projects are encouraged. Independent externally funded research projects are valued but not required.
The annual base salary range for this position is $124,326-$144,643. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidates work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
