Position Summary

The Horani laboratory is seeking researchers and scientists at different levels to join a growing group. Postdocs interested in working on exciting projects related to motile cilia and airway epithelial cell biology are encouraged to apply. Our lab is part of the Washington University Cilia group, and studies airway epithelial cells biology, and motile cilia disease using primary human and mouse airway cells, and mouse and cell-culture models. Techniques in the lab include molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and large data set (omics) analysis. We have multiple collaborations with other motile cilia and centrosome laboratories, genetics, and computational scientists to take complementary approaches to our questions.

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with any of the following: molecular biology, microbiology, cloning, PCR, cell culture, mouse handling and tissue processing. 
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Prism. 
• Willingness to work with cell culture and laboratory rodents.
• Familiarity with R language, and sequencing analysis is an advantage.

Required Qualifications

Postdoc candidates should hold a PhD (or about to graduate). Candidates for other research positions should hold at least a bachelorâ™s degree. Candidates with prior experience in cell biology, molecular biology, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Candidates with familiar with bioinformatic analysis (Seurat, Bulk RNAseq analysis) or familiar with R are encouraged to apply.
