Aberrant cell state plasticity and impaired differentiation are critical features of colorectal cancer. By utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, we aim to design and develop the next generation of therapeutics that induce differentiation of colorectal cancer. The Sethi Laboratory is looking to recruit an exceptional postdoctoral fellow to join their dedicated, diverse and collaborative team. We seek a highly motivated, creative, collegial and diligent M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. postdoctoral scholar with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology.?? Preference will be given to candidates with experience in genetic screens (e.g. CRISPR), chromatin biology, mouse models, and single-cell transcriptomics.
The Sethi Laboratory is in the divisions of Molecular and Cellular Oncology and Gastrointestinal Oncology in the Medical Oncology Department at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. We are part of the Cancer Program at the Broad Institute, Harvard Digestive Disease Center, and Gastrointestinal Malignancies at Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center.?? ????Our??overall goal??is to combine clinical observations and patient-derived data with rigorous basic science investigation to yield opportunities for impactful translational advances. Our passion for investigative research is fundamentally dependent upon its power to generate a deeper understanding of human disease and ultimately improve patient care. We are particularly committed to defining the fundamental mechanisms underlying gastrointestinal cancers with the hope that such insight will translate into new prevention and treatment methods (https://sethilab.dana-farber.org/). Our work has been published in journals such as Cancer Cell, Nature Genetics, Science Advances and Gastroenterology.
We utilize molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and organism models to study stem cell biology, gene regulation, epigenetic regulation, genetic dependencies, and drug discovery.?? Genome-wide molecular analyses of human and mouse models routinely executed in the lab include WES, WGS, RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, Cut&Run-seq, ATAC-seq, CRISPR genetic screens, and drug compound screens. We utilize genetically engineered, carcinogen-induced, nude xenograft, human and mouse neoplastic organoids, and PDX mouse models to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying gastrointestinal cancer development

Candidates who have demonstrated rigorous basic and translational research during their M.D. or Ph.D. training will be considered. Significant experience in standard laboratory techniques (including flow cytometry, tissue culture, PCR, western blots, etc.) is required.?? The candidate should be highly motivated, dedicated, and a team player. Highest priority is currently for candidates with experience in functional CRISPR screens, epigenomics, perturbation single-cell transcriptomics, molecular biology and biochemistry.
Please attach a CV, letter of interest and list of three references. Position can start as soon as Sept. 1st, 2023.
