Job Description:

• Formulating and conducting scientific experiments, collecting data, and analyzing and assessing test and research outcomes are all tasks that must be completed.  

• Responding to research queries, troubleshooting issues, devising and writing sophisticated experimental protocols.

• Contributing research findings to publications, articles, presentations, grants, and other documents, as well as composing them.  

• Assisting with the submission of grants and manuscripts.  

• Supporting senior research workers by guiding, training, and counseling junior researchers and students.  

• Reviews laboratory protocols and training on new techniques. Manage complex data sets for research.

• Trains new laboratory personnel.

• Performs other related work as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

• PhD in Biology or related field.

Experience:

• Five yearâ™s experience in: Cell Culturing; Cellular Transfection; Flow Cytometry; Mitochondrial Bioenergetics; Intracerebral Transmission of Viral Vectors; Preparation of Cell and Tissue Samples for RNA-seq; ChiP-seq; Single Cell Sequencing; Laser Capture Microdissection.

Preferred Competencies

• Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Strong data management skills and attention to detail.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.

• Ability to read and understand complex documents (e.g., clinical trials).

• Ability to handle competing demands with diplomacy and enthusiasm.

• Absorb large amounts of information quickly.

• Adaptability to changing working situations and work assignments.

• Education or experience should include bioinformatics analysis of high-throughput biological and genetics data, computational and bioinformatics methods, development/customization of software applications for scientific needs.
