The lab studies the human genetics of pediatric neurological disorders including Chiari I malformation, syringomyelia and hydrocephalus. The three main areas of focus are collecting and sequencing DNA from patients, testing disease-related hypotheses in zebrafish, and performing high-throughput functional assays of disease-related genes. The position will include, but not limited to, a focus on curating a DNA biorepository tissue culture, using CRISPR/Cas9 and related genome engineering techniques, molecular cloning, and zebrafish husbandry.
