Post-Doc Associate - Jain Lab
Position Summary:The long-term goal of this research project is to understand how meiosis is regulated. Successful execution of meiosis involves specialized, coordinated and tightly regulated events, errors in which can lead to infertility, miscarriage and birth defects. The project will explore one of two fundamental meiotic processes in the mouse model organism: 1) germline transition into meiosis with a focus on post-transcriptional control of gene expression and the contribution of RNA modifications. 2) retrotransposon repression in the germline and the role of DNA methylation during meiosis.
