The candidate will demonstrate the ability to organize and manage multiple interventions simultaneously.
The candidate will have excellent computer skills with proficiency in all Microsoft software applications.
The candidate will be expected to complete 12 Hematology/Oncology CEUs annually or maintain professional certification in oncology (CPHON, OCN, BMTCN, Infusion Nurse Certification, etc.)
They will participate in developing department goals and objectives by attending staff meetings and in-service programs, attending appropriate continuing education opportunities and staff development programs, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to support the implementation of change.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills using the nursing process, excellent problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to set priorities.
Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build respectful relationships between units and individuals.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Expectations
Demonstrated accountability and dependability including a good attendance record with punctuality.
Demonstrated adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives.
Proficiency with typing and electronic health record documentation.
Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills, protocols, and evidence-based interventions.
Actively participate and support performance improvement activities related to self, clinic, department, and institutional goals and objectives.
A current license in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
At least one (1) year in the last five (5) years of intensive care unit experience, emergency room experience, or as a Registered Nurse in an infusion setting.
At least one (1) year of pediatric experience in the last 5 years.
One (1) year in the last five (5) years demonstrated proficiency with documentation in an electronic health record, e.g., Epic as indicated by interviews, references, and or performance evaluation.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as evidence by resume, annual evaluations, and references.

Demonstrate (1) year in the last five (5) experience administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, immunotherapy, cell and gene therapy, blood products.

Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8- or 9-hour shifts, hours of operation 7:30-6:30 Flexibility is required. Weekend and Holidays may be required.

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
