About UTMB Health UTMB Health is a Houston-area, four-institution health system home to the oldest medical school in Texas. The main academic medical center campus is on 84 acres overlooking the Gulf of Mexico in beautiful Galveston, Texas. It is also designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center, Level IV NICU, and comprehensive stroke center and is home to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Hospital.
