Researcher in Neuroimmunology (B)

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is now recruiting an Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist. The position duties include:

1. Utilize Cre-loxP system to generate and maintain conditional knockout mouse models.
2. Manage and maintain neurodegenerative diseases mouse models including Alzheimer's disease.
3. Perform in vivo experimental procedures including virus injections and engineered T cell administrations in mouse models.
4. Perform in vitro primary culture of neurons and glial cells for functional and mechanistic studies.
5. Assess and analyze mouse brain phenotypes to evaluate therapeutic effects and disease progression.
6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and execute research projects.
7. Assist in preparing manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals related to ongoing research.
8. Present research findings at seminars, conferences, and lab meetings.

Required Qualifications:

1. Assistant Specialist- A master's degree (or equivalent degree) or a bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or related disciplines with three or more years of research experience.
2. Associate Specialist- Master's degree (or equivalent degree) in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or related disciplines or five to ten years of relevant experience.
3. Full Specialist- Terminal degree (or equivalent degree) in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or related disciplines or ten or more years of relevant experience.
4. Hands-on experience with Cre-loxP systems for generating and maintaining conditional knockout mouse models.
5. Strong experience managing Alzheimer's disease mouse models, specifically 5xFAD mice.
6. Skilled in performing in vivo injection of viral particles and engineered cells.
7. Competence in assessing mouse brain phenotypes, which include immunohistochemistry (IHC) techniques.
8. Experience in in vitro primary culture of neuronal and glial cells.
9. Ability to maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with animal care protocols.
10. Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. PhD degree in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or related disciplines.
2. Familiarity with advanced in vivo imaging and phenotyping methods.
3. Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
4. Demonstrated grant writing and manuscript preparation skills.
5. Knowledge of bioinformatics or neurobiology-related data analysis.
6. Experience working in collaborative, multidisciplinary research environments.
7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
