The Yale University Department of Neurology seeks a fellowship trained Movement Disorders neurologist to join the Division at the rank level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The Yale Comprehensive Movement Disorders Center boasts world-class faculty who deliver holistic, patient-centered care that optimizes the human experience and advances research to holistically address disease.
With specialized expertise in the full range of movement disorders, our team delivers transformative care in more than 7,000 comprehensive treatment plans, integrating a multidisciplinary advanced care model. Care is enhanced in specialized clinics such as the Adams Center for Parkinson and Atypical Parkinsonian Disorders, Memory and Movement Aging Clinic, Wilson Disease Center of Excellence (1 of 7 nationwide), and Yale Center for Restless Legs Syndrome (1 of 10 RLS Foundation Quality Care Centers nationwide), as well as the functional movement disorder program, therapeutic botulinum toxins clinics, and comprehensive advanced therapeutics and deep brain stimulation program. Close collaboration with experts in the fields of neurosurgery, behavioral neurology, neurogenetics, sleep neurology, neuropsychology, psychiatry, autonomics, radiology, neuro-ophthalmology, and pharmacy continue to further compassionate care and cutting-edge research. The division combines basic science, translational, and clinical research, working toward biomarker discovery, identifying markers of disease progression, and evaluating behavioral and pharmacologic interventions in movement disorders with ample collaborative opportunities. Yale is also a premier training institution for two-year movement disorders clinical and research fellows who receive individually tailored instruction.
We seek motivated academics with clinical expertise in the diagnosis and comprehensive management of patients across the full spectrum of movement disorders. In addition to conservative approaches and medication management, applicants should be well trained in chemodenervation of movement disorders, and in deep brain stimulation candidacy and programming, although modifications can be made based on interests. We anticipate faculty applicants to be dedicated to the education of the next generation of subspecialty experts. We provide a highly collaborative, supportive, and mentored environment that promotes specialists to pursue career growth within their specific area of interest. This position offers applicants an exciting opportunity for individual programmatic development and goal discovery across varied academic interests within our division.
The community of New Haven and the surrounding areas provides a beautiful landscape to settle which has something for everyone including music, theater, a foodies? delight, beaches, boating, shoreline towns, and tons of outdoor adventure. It is a fantastic area of the northeast for individuals and families. Yale University further offers the benefits of the academic environment, collegiate events, literary and art collections, and performance art. Proximity to New York, Boston, and the rest of New England offers additional opportunities and we are happy to work with faculty to provide opportunities to practice in locations that meet their needs.
