Position Summary The Barrick lab (http://barricklab.org) at Michigan State University is seeking a Research Associate (Postdoc) to work on projects involving understanding how microbes naturally found in the honey bee gut can be used to support pollinator health and improve agricultural resilience. This position will primarily focus on: (1) testing new ways of genetically engineering new functions into bee gut symbionts to protect hives from parasites, pathogens, and stresses; and (2) developing methods to track and control how genetically engineered DNA and microbes are transmitted within hives.
