The Senior Genetic Counselor is responsible for conducting genetic intake on patients appropriate for genetic counseling/testing, conducts mutation risk and analysis and calculation. Assists in the treatment of patients and families with known genetic disorders, and of patients at risk for the development of genetic disorders. The Senior Genetic Counselor acts as a subject matter expert in their role. This level often handles the more complex and difficult functions of the role. The Senior role exercises independent judgment and initiative to resolve both routine and non-routine issues.Essential Duties:Apply advanced expertise in conducting genetic diagnoses risk assessments and mutation probability analyses to evaluate complex presentations in families.
