Temporary, fixed-term; one year and renewable on the recommendation of the faculty mentor and at the discretion of the dean. May be renewed up to a maximum of five years.
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with background in either bioinformatics, cancer biology, epigenomics, immunology, or metabolism to join our NIH-funded laboratory at Center for Craniofacial Molecular Biology, Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Southern California. The Lin lab aims to develop faithful in vivo and in vitro cancer models for better understanding of its biology as well as its vulnerability. We are further integrating advanced computational methodologies and cutting-edge genomic tools to strengthen these models. Successful candidates will lead projects, from designing projects, conducting experiments, performing analyses, producing manuscripts. We encourage postdocs to compete for fellowships funding and grants whenever possible.

This Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate will serve as a key personnel on Dr. Dechen Lin's research projects. She/He will participate in all laboratory activities for the purpose of enhancing and developing research competencies, and will participate in planning, designing and conducting highly technical and complex research projects under the direction of my supervision. She/He will also analyze research data and provides interpretations, contribute to the development of research documentation for publication and/or prepares technical reports, papers and/or records.
Preferred Field of Expertise: Publications in peer-reviewed journals in the same or related field.
Note: A copy of the doctoral diploma or other certification that indicates that the terminal degree has been completed satisfactorily is required. If the doctoral candidate has not yet obtained a degree, he/she should provide evidence that a thesis has been approved together with a documented indication of the expected date of formal graduation. It is the responsibility of the faculty mentor to verify this documentation. The documentation is to be filed with the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
The annual base salary range for this position is $98,186.70 to $115,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidates work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
