Job Duties:
Purify brain cell type-specific exosomes in blood samples - 30%
Isolate and purify exosomes from blood using specialized techniques.
Troubleshoot and optimize purification protocols as needed.
Assess ratio of concentration of specific exosomes over total exosomes - 25%
Quantify specific exosomes vs. total exosomes using assays.
Analyze and report concentration ratios across samples.
Assess contents carried by cell type-specific exosomes using omic approach (miRNA, RNA, proteins, lipids) - 30%
Extract and prepare analyses (RNA, proteins, lipids).
Conduct sequencing, proteomics, and lipidomics to characterize molecular content.
Assay for specific molecular targets carried by brain-derived exosomes -15%
Perform assays (RT-PCR, Western blot, ELISA) to detect molecular targets.
Analyze and report findings, collaborating with the team for validation.
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials
Required Qualifications:
BA/BS degree plus at least two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least six years
Demonstrated experience in molecular biology, nanoparticles, and omics (proteome, transcriptome, epigenome)
Demonstrated proficiency in communicating scientific content (data analysis and presenting at lab meetings and conferences)
