NYU Shanghai invites applications for a visiting Assistant/Associate/Professor of Practice of Biology position. The appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2025. This is a one year position with the possibility of annual renewal for up to three years, pending administrative approval.
Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions.
Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in biology or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment on September 1st, 2025. The candidate is expected to teach 4 courses per academic year. While we seek applications from candidates with an active research profile, successful candidates will be hired on the basis of teaching and service.
We invite applications from candidates in any field and have a special interest in those with expertise in genomics and/or bioinformatics. We seek candidates to teach foundational biology, genomics and/or bioinformatics, and with the possibility to develop course(s) within the expertise of the candidate.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching specifying your teaching experience and teaching philosophy, and one writing sample via Interfolio. Additionally, applicants will be prompted to enter the names and email addresses of three referees. Each referee will be contacted to upload a reference letter through Interfolio.
