Position Summary

The Foltz lab works at the intersection of translational immunology and computational biology. We study mechanisms of response and resistance to natural killer (NK) cell therapies and regulation of NK cell anti-tumor function with a focus on acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. We integrate single-cell sequencing approaches, clinical samples, and experimental biology on primary human immune cells to improve NK cell therapies for cancer.

The Research Lab Supervisor will oversee the wet laboratory setting of the Foltz laboratory and facilitate collaborations within the Sections of Computational Biology, Stem Cell Biology, and Cellular Therapy in the Department of Medicine and Division of Oncology.

Performs and oversees research projects or laboratory processes. Oversees other personnel and equipment.

Job Description

• Performs laboratory administrative functions such as scheduling, purchasing and establishing record-keeping systems.
• Supervises laboratory staff assigned, assuring appropriate study procedures, review of staff work, explaining policies and procedures and screening of new employees.
• Develops procedure manuals and operational/technical guidelines for lab studies.
• Participates in lab study processes, maintaining records and preparing reports as required.
• Researches and recommends new methods and procedures to maintain current capabilities, quality and standards.

Working Conditions:

• Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
• Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animal.

Salary Range

$55,200.00 - $100,000.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
