Job Description:
The Lo Lab in the Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University seeks an experienced researcher to join the team. The postdoctoral scholar will investigate how autophagy and lysosomal dysfunction, driven by aberrant inflammatory cytokine receptor signaling, lipid dysregulation, or intrinsically disordered protein aggregation, contribute to neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration, with a goal of developing novel therapies.



Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Biology or a related field is required by the time of appointment. Demonstrated potential for excellence in research, evidenced by a solid publication record or significant research accomplishments

Job Specific Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
Major position responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining a mouse breeding colony, performing stereotaxic injections, conducting behavioral characterizations, and contributing to translational research through in vivo studies.
• Conducting high-resolution multiplexed imaging of human/mouse brain tissue sections and single-cell spatial analysis using bioinformatics approach.
• Using cutting-edge cell-based assays and biochemical/biophysical approaches to elucidate disease pathways.
• Designing and engineering fluorescent-based biosensors and launching high-throughput screening for drug discovery to develop neuroprotective drugs.
• Collecting and analyzing data, drafting manuscript and publishing findings, presenting at conferences, contributing to new grant applications, mentoring undergraduate/graduate students, and supporting other team members in their research efforts.
