The Saint Louis University Henry and Amelia Nasrallah Center for Neuroscience is seeking a highly motivated investigator at the Assistant Professor level within the tenure track. The search is part of a cluster hiring process that is taking place between the Center of Neuroscience and the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology in the School of Medicine. The Department is a vibrant, dynamic, multidisciplinary and highly collaborative department and offers access to excellent core facilities and opportunities to join collaborative centers including the Institute for Drug and Biotherapeutic Innovation, as well internal funding mechanisms for project support. Members of our community have access to the nationally acclaimed Cortex Innovation Community, to multiple local startup-supporting institutions and to the fast-growing, cutting-edge medical and biotechnology community which operates actively throughout the St. Louis region. Candidates involved in related disciplines with a focus on neuroscience, such as drug discovery, structural biology and chemical biology are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications and Responsibilities

Candidates should have a PhD or MD/PhD degree, a minimum of two years of postdoctoral studies, and a strong publication record. We are particularly interested in researchers working on pain, neurological and psychiatric disorders in the areas of: neuroimmunology, neural circuits and behavior; molecular and cellular neuroscience; and neurogenetics with a focus on identifying and developing novel therapeutic opportunities. Candidates will be expected to develop an innovative, extramurally funded research program, participate in the educational mission of the Department, and engage in University service.
