Our lab is focusing on gene therapy for the treatment of muscle disorders, including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which is a devastating disease leading to the death of patients at the age of 20-30 years. We are looking for a highly motivated Visiting scholar to join our team. In particular, we are looking for someone with experience in molecular biology (qPCR, IF, WB), as well as mouse injection and dissection experiences for neuromuscular disorders. Experience in dissecting and mounting muscle tissue is preferred.
Required Qualifications::
PhD degree in molecular biology, Biochemistry, Biology, or other health-related field. · Minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory research in cell biology and molecular biology. The job description includes, but is not restricted to performing research experiments, maintaining records of experiments, preparing laboratory reports, analyzing data, and preparing publications and grant applications.
Preferred Qualifications::
Laboratory experience in some of the following techniques (qPCR, IF, WB, cell culture, and cloning) as well as mouse injection and dissection experiences for neuromuscular disorders. Experience in dissecting and mounting muscle tissue is preferred.
Essential Functions and percent of time::
75% Conducting research in the laboratory, analyzing the data and devising innovative scientific and technical solutions
10% Ordering research reagent and lab supplies
15% Supervising/training undergraduate/graduate students
Working Conditions::
Standard molecular biology/cell biology laboratory conditions. Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply. Length of contract is contingent upon funding.
