We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual with excellent communication and writing skills. Candidate must have a PhD degree, 4+ years post-doctoral research experience as demonstrated by a strong publication record in the field of cell biology, cancer biology, and/or translational research and presentations at national/international meetings. In addition, ideal candidate will have technical expertise in molecular biology, multicolor flow cytometry, cell sorting, cell biology assays and tissue culture techniques, methods for gene knock-out including CRISPR, familiarity with cancer genome databases and large-scale data analysis, live cell microscopy, and experience with murine models, Cellular antigen Receptor (CAR) T cellular therapy development, and human cell lines xenografts.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a leading role in the laboratory to accomplish research projects and produce additional data for future grant development to expand the laboratory efforts in the development of translational therapeutics for patients with multiple myeloma.
Specifically, the candidate is expected to:
Conceptualize, design, implement and direct research projects;
Contribute to develop, write and submit grant proposals of original research to obtain significant salary and research support from outside funding agencies;
Develop, adopt, and implement new laboratory methods;
Plan, design and conduct complex experiments;
Extract, compile, analyze, and evaluate raw data to establish relevance to problems being evaluated;
Write manuscripts, articles, abstracts and research reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals;
Attend and present research findings at national and international scientific conferences;
Develop and conduct educational workshops, lectures and seminars;

Ensure accountability for compliance to federal and institutional laboratory safety regulations;
Train junior investigators, post-doctoral researchers, graduate students and technicians within laboratory;
Participate in supervision of research staff;
Contribute to clerical duties as needed for good laboratory practice (e.g. ensuring presence of necessary reagents, annotation of cell lines and other key reagents developed in the lab).
Selected candidates will be required to complete a formal interview and a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
Qualified candidates should send an email to Francesca Cottini, MD (francesca.cottini@osumc.edu). Please include a cover letter, CV, and contact information for 3 references.
