Description: Postdoctoral Research Associate Positions Princeton Precision Health Initiative @ Princeton University / GFDL @ NOAA Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics Princeton University The Princeton Precision Health Initiative (PPH) at Princeton University was established to transform human health and health policy and improve health equity and outcomes. Many high impact areas of human health and disease are thought to be impacted by environmental factors and exacerbated by climate change. PPH has access to large clinical cohorts in several of these areas, with medical, molecular, and whole genome data available. Similarly, the NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) has world-leading expertise in climate modeling and access to valuable climate, weather, and air quality data. The GFDL and PPH are collaborating to better understand the impact of climate on human health to build models that will integrate health, genomics, environmental, and climate data across scales of geography and time. These models, both physically based and AI-driven, will enable better understanding of the links between climate and health; in addition, they can be used to generate predictions that can guide policy recommendations and decisions in a data-driven way. We seek applicants for postdoctoral or more senior research positions to join an interdisciplinary group that is tackling these research problems. Successful candidates will be willing and able to work across a wide breadth of disciplines to better understand the impact of climate on health, integrating physical, environmental, biomedical, and social sciences. The term of appointment is based on rank. Positions at the postdoctoral rank are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding; those hired at more senior ranks may have multi-year appointments. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University. While the positions will be appointed within the Princeton Precision Health Initiative under the umbrella of the Lewis Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics at Princeton University, they will be fully integrated with the GFDL group.
