The Department of Genetics seeks a board eligible/certified Clinical Geneticist to join its faculty at the level of Assistant Professor.
About you:
The faculty appointee will provide outpatient and inpatient diagnosis and management as part of a clinical group that includes other faculty, nurses, genetic counselors, and a dietician. Yale University and Yale New Haven Hospital form a major academic medical center of southern New England, which has exciting and active basic research and clinical research programs.
The appointee will participate in the teaching of trainees and have opportunities for collaborative or independent research. The appointee will also be involved in new and exciting university wide initiatives in personalized medicine across different departments.

In addition to its hospital system, Yale’s Center for Genome Analyses is one of the largest genome centers in the world and offers cutting edge genome sequencing technologies. Within the department of Genetics, our state-of-the-art DNA Diagnostic and Cytogenetics Laboratory offer clinical whole genome and whole exome sequencing as well as genomic copy number analysis on site.
Members of the Department of Genetics conduct basic, clinical and translational research using genetics and genomics of model organisms (yeast, fruit fly, worm, zebrafish, mouse) and humans to understand fundamental mechanisms of biology and disease. Areas of active investigation include genetic and epigenetic regulation of development and disease, molecular genetics, stem cells and other dynamic cellular systems, regulation of gene expression, computational biology and human genomics. The Department of Genetics also provides clinical care in Medical Genetics in the Yale New Haven Health System. Clinical genetics services include inpatient consultation and care, general, subspecialty, and prenatal genetics clinics, and clinical laboratories for cytogenetics, and DNA diagnostics. The Department sponsors a Medical Genetics Residency program leading to certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics. Admission to the Genetics Residency is directly through the Department.
