The Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics (VIPBG) in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team investigating the associations between psychiatric internalizing disorders (IDs) and functional disorders (FDs) such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Project Overview Our research aims to: - Examine associations between IDs and FDs at both phenotypic and genotypic levels - Clarify the direction of causation between IDs and FDs
Key Responsibilities - Apply advanced statistical methods to address project aims - Conduct regression-based analyses and structural equation modeling of cross-sectional and longitudinal data - Analyze genetically informative siblings or molecular data - Disseminate findings through publications and conference presentations - Meet weekly with VCU PI or Co-Is to discuss progress - Participate in fortnightly group calls to discuss statistical analysis and manuscript preparation
