DESCRIPTION
The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science is dedicated to creating and promoting public health innovations to advance equity, justice, and wellbeing for all. The School focuses on health, diversity, inclusion, and social equity in everything we do. We believe this starts in the workplace, where we actively strive to ensure a sense of belonging for everyone and honor the idea that through our differences, we are better together. In working to fulfill that vision, we are comprised of more than 125 primary appointed faculty and academics, 200 staff members, and 25 secondary appointed faculty and provide mentorship and instruction to 750+ BSPH undergraduate major students and 225+ postgraduate students across six degree programs as well as a clinical residency. We conduct research and instruction in public health disciplines such as Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Climate & Environmental Health, Community Health Services & Preventive Medicine, Epidemiology, Global Health, Health Behavior, Health Equity & Justice, Health Policy, Public Mental Health & Substance Use, and Technology & Precision Health, totaling ~$255M in grants and contracts and housing five research service cores. We engage in research and teaching collaborations across the University and the community at-large. Partnerships with the community and with health agencies are fundamental to the School.
We are seeking a qualified, capable, and dynamic individual for a Doctoral Program Coordinator position to support our Public Health doctoral program. Programmatic and administrative aspects of the doctoral program are overseen by and with support from the Education Programs & Student Affairs Manager in conjunction with the Program Director and several faculty committees (e.g., Graduate Program, Executive, and Admissions Committee). The Graduate Program Coordinator is independently responsible and accountable for providing comprehensive program management, strategic insights, and administrative support for the program. A broad overview of the Coordinator's role is as follows: applies knowledge about curriculum, requirements and educational activities to coordinate the doctoral education program. Collaborates with and supports the Program Director, the Education Programs & Student Affairs Manager, School leadership, and faculty regarding strategic initiatives and Program changes. Coordinates and maintains program operations, which may include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, student and classroom scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking student compliance, and program accreditation. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: support for the full range of activities involved in the doctoral program and curriculum development, outreach, admissions, core course coordination, alumni and website content development; develop and manage all admissions, recruitment and outreach activities; in conjunction with the School and other programs as appropriate, plan and coordinate graduation, welcome, and other events for the program; serve as consultant to the Program Director and committees in analysis and formation of policy and key procedures for the program, work with School, VC, and campus central offices on myriad aspects of program and student administration such as with GEPA, registrar, and Student Financial Services; responsible for student support funding management and tracking including GSR and TA position management, entry of awards and other on-off funding, graduate enrichment, information exchange, and curriculum committees; assist with strategic planning, and reporting to institutions of higher education nationwide; develop, prepare and disseminate analytical data report and surveys to evaluate program objectives; creates and implements outreach materials and efforts; report to campus, system wide and national educators on matters pertaining to the program. Contributes to School accreditation, review, and reports processes related to the program. Works as part of a dedicated and energized team of program coordinators, including sharing of best practices, shared and common needs, and serving as a backup for other coordinators infrequently as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
