The Environmental Genomics Laboratory in the Division of Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to study immunometabolism and the molecular mechanisms of host-microbe interactions. Our laboratory is studying these mechanisms in the context of malaria infection and human lifestyle transitions with a focus on the intersection of human and microbial metabolism and immunity using multi-omics approaches. This position would be an excellent opportunity for someone with robust experimental skills in microbiology and immunology and/or hands-on experience in population and statistical genomics. The successful applicant will take advantage of multi-omics approaches and combine state-of-the-art techniques from microbiology, immunology and genomics using both in vivo and in vitro systems. They will also benefit from the support of established Core Bioinformatics, Sequencing, Imaging, Molecular and Cell Biology Platforms, and High-Performance Computing facilities.
Applicants must have a PhD in Microbiology, Immunology, Functional Genomics or a related field. Experimental and analytical research skills in the fields of immunology/microbiology relevant to the project are required. Experience in multi-omics approaches and statistical genetics are important assets for this project.
