Lecturer in Anthropology
The Department of Anthropology at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for Anthropology 5a: Human Origins, a 4-credit course, for the Spring 2025 semester. This is a gateway, introductory-level course in the undergraduate anthropology major. It examines the major biological and cultural transformations that took place over the course of several million years, as modern Homo sapiens evolved from ancestral primate species, and developed the cultural foundations that gave rise to modern societies. The class also provides students with a general background in evolutionary genetics and evolutionary theory as they pertain to the development of modern humans, extinct hominins, and our primate relatives.The class will meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursday
