The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago seeks a part-time lecturer to develop and teach a course in the Master of Science in Precision Health program (https://precisionhealth.bsd.uchicago.edu). The position is part-time and renewable, but not benefits eligible.
The appointee will serve as the primary instructor for the graduate-level course, which should ideally provide students with an introduction to the tools and applications of bioinformatics. The required course is open to Master?s students in the Biological Sciences Division but may also be open to other students with permission of the instructor. The lecturer will be required to develop (with assistance from a teaching assistant as needed) all course materials, including the development and management of a Canvas Learning Management System course site.
Courses run for nine weeks, with the tenth week for a final project or exam. It is preferable that the course meets in the late afternoon either 1 or 2 days a week for a total of 3 hours, although the exact day(s)/time(s) will be determined in consultation with the Lecturer. The class is offered in-person on the University?s main campus in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL.
