The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a Research Technologist for the division of Neurosurgical Oncology. Under general supervision, the Research Technologist performs clinical and/or research laboratory experiments by following established procedures and protocols or with instruction. Characterizes DNA derived from plasma, CSF and tumors to identify genetic and epigenetic alterations in individuals with cancer and non-cancerous conditions. Uses basic science knowledge to learn techniques/methods of the lab. Runs lab tests and completes measurements as assigned.
