The Siemer lab (siemerlab.usc.edu) at USC is looking for a postdoc with a background in NMR spectroscopy and knowledge of protein biochemical techniques. We study intrinsic protein disorder in the context amyloid fibrils using solid-state NMR, EPR, and MD simulations.Current projects: We work on the fibrils formed by huntingtin and -synuclein important in neurodegenerative diseases and specific chaperones that interact with these fibrils.Environment: The Siemer lab is part of the Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute a modern research facility located at the health science campus of USC, close to downtown Los Angeles.
