The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate in computational or systems biology to study the fundamental molecular causes and mechanistic underpinning of human disease. A major focus is on cancer (at multiple organ sites), cardiovascular-, respiratory-, immune-related (inflammatory), and metabolic diseases. Of special interest are chronic diseases with modifiable risk factors, such as lifestyle, diet, and occupational/medicinal/environmental determinants. The overarching goal is to elucidate how the interplay of genetic, epigenetic, and transcriptomic changes contributes to the development of human cancer and other chronic diseases.
