The incumbent in this position will be involved in research centered on the epithelial biology of lung repair and regeneration after injury and during aging. Our laboratory is also engaged in developing drugs or molecular tools to favorably regulate the repair process and prevent fibrosis. Current projects in the lab focus on understanding the impact of age on alveolar repair in normal and diseased human lungs (Cohen et al. BioRxiv 2023, Jourdan Le Saux et al. Am J Res Cell Mol Bio 2024). The position will involve acquiring skills in culturing lung slices for in vitro assays, isolating primary cells from human lungs and their subsequent analysis by flow cytometry.
